The little book of Stoicism is a book geared towards bettering your life using Stoic Philosophy. The book begins by providing a brief explanation of the history of Stoicism. The philosophy of what it means and how effective the practices, meditations are for our daily life. I particularly enjoyed how the author compartmentalized the ideas into more straightforward and understandable wording. By using old techniques and philosophy, it addresses modern and complex issues we face today.
The literature was easy to follow and to read. The work was divided into reasonable sections and felt well thought out. It was apparent to acknowledge the author’s intentions as he aimed at showing us how to gain resilience, confidence, calmness, and everything that is mentally troubling us in our life. I especially enjoyed the part where the book discusses the ability to contemplate your death.
I believe this book would suit people who are into self-help, psychology, social sciences, stoicism, and behavioral therapy. This is a beneficial book for people who wish to try a method is not typically mentioned. I appreciated the novelty of the work and look forward to reading more from this author.
