Love Stories by Robert Germaux (Book Review #1221)

Love stories is a travel memoir about the author’s wife, Cindy Miller spending six weeks in Europe in 1966. The memoir moves between 1966 and 1989 and 2019. Cindy is only 17 when she leaves Kutztown, Pennsylvania, and travels with 250 other teenagers visiting so many places like Norway, attending the World Youth Conference, France, Germany, Switzerland.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

While she traveled, she kept a journal holding the memories and experiences she had, and you get to read many of those in the memoir as well. Robert has taken care in writing this book, and it is apparent to see how much he has cared for its accuracy and creation.

I am not sure how much the jumping back and forth between the timeframes would bother the readers. But the book does move a lot with the time frame of things. It was interesting to read about Dean and the love he confessed to Cindy. His love letter and the way he just stood aside and kept loving her till the end were heartfelt

I recommend this book to those who like to read travel books and memoirs.
