Jericho’s Wall is a dystopian fiction story. It all begins with Joshlynn, a 16-year-old, getting ready to take her test and be told where she is to live, work, and basically be told how to live.
The story provides a futuristic look at things. Set in 2097, everything I controlled by Lord Baal. It is enjoyable to read and fast-paced. The literature and the world are controlled by a tyrant that you find appealing and scary at the same time. I say appealing because you always like to see strong bad guys, but at the same you want them to fail. The controlled world even dictates how many children you can have or where you are allowed to live.
It was nice to see Joshlynn want to stand up for what she believes in. I found the story and the character-building to fit with the tale’s dynamic; however, at times, I would have preferred more emotions and descriptive notions of loss and death.
The story’s premise emphasizes the clear message of how important it is to have freedom. This is something that I relished throughout the storyline. I recommend this book to sci-fi readers.
