Dreams of Thunder by Christian Cura (Book Review #940)

Dreams of thunder is a fantasy story about a young girl, Saba, seeking revenge over his grandfather’s loss. This is book two of its series. The adult fantasy continues with intrigue, adventure, and action. Saba learns the truth about herself and plans to take vengeance on the council that executed her grandfather. It has been 20 years, but Saba has not forgotten.

I found the story to be fast-paced and filled with characters that not necessarily contributed to the storyline. I thought that they might have a purpose of showing more meaning in the following series, and so just gracely let that pass. I particularly liked Nora and Danielle. Their personality definitely enriched the storyline.

The action and scenes were described well and displayed a natural skill from the author’s ability in writing. I’m not a big fan of sex scenes or sexual content, and so that didn’t really work for me, but, again, there was so much happening that I quickly forgot about it.

The author is at the peak of her elements of skills, so it was apparent that the story would be well written. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

I recommend this book to fantasy readers.
