Screamcatcher – The shimmering Eye by Christy J. Breedlove (Book Review #932)

The shimmering eye is the third book in its series and continues with Jory Pike, a half-blood Chippewa. She is eighteen now and in search of finding out why a 500-plus acre of land is under attack. The owner of this rural Montana land is adamant about getting rid of the evil spirits and hopes that Jory can accomplish just that. The paranormal investigation begins and there are a lot at stake here.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Jory isn’t alone, of course, and her three other friends are there to help us using all kinds of techniques and skills. As you can imagine, things don’t mainly go as planned, and they discover an even more horrifying malevolent spirit to deal with.

Since I had read book one, I was expecting the same quality and well-written literature. I was not disappointed. The book was geared towards the younger age, and the characters were well meshed together. Jory was still a delight to read, and her friends all contributed to its storyline’s richness. The entire storyline was adventurous and entertaining to read.

I recommend this story to young adult fantasy readers.

  1. Much thanks to you Jeyran for taking the time with me and your wonderful analysis of The Shimmering Eye! I’m glad you weren’t distracted by the totally new setting and circumstances. And I’m delighted you remembered the characters so well, noting the previous books.
