This Land is No Stranger by Sarah Hollister & Gil Reavill (Book Review #994)

This land is no stranger is a Nordic crime thriller written about issues impacting the Swedish society, the Roma minority, and far-right activism.

It begins with Veronika Brand, an NYPD detective receiving a call to show up for a family Swedish birthday party. So, Veronica travels to Sweden and all the drama that then follows through. Racial prejudice, revenge, political corruption, and murder are just a few to mention.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Veronica intends to know more about her heritage, but she gets more than what she bargained for and has to deal with certain disappearances of Roman women from the streets of Stockholm.

I really enjoyed this book as its premise was well worth the mention. The murder mystery was thrilling and including many intriguing concepts. I believe the Nordic Noir scenes were well described, and I recommend this book to crime thriller fans.
