The Unknown Man by Natalie Hanson (Book Review #1093)

The unknown man is book one of the ‘A Zalla Bennbett Mystery’ series. It is a crime horror story, and the story begins with Zalla Bennbett. She can sense who is lying and is an asset for the FBI and their investigations. Her power is based on being born with an abnormality that is an imbalance through her body.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The new assignment for Zalla is to work on a kidnapping case of two young girls, but it is also a challenge for her. Her abilities don’t really make her a favourite amongst her workers. She isn’t socially accepted and is accused at work, making her want to reveal the truth.

I admired her struggles, and I enjoyed reading about her finding a sense of purpose. At one stage or another, we all go through this feeling, so it is always nice to relate to a character when you read a book.

I would caution the reader of some violent scenes and discussions of mutilation. I recommend this book to those who like to read mystery thrillers.
