The Adversary by Maurício Limeira (Book Review #1253)

The adversary is a crime thriller and is about Zeca, a journalist seeking revenge for the killers of his girlfriend. He feels horrible and responsible for her death. Justice to himself is only achieved when he hires a professional killer, Casimir, to find the people who attacked.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Casimir is a peculiar character and, in my belief, truly pulled the story together. He has a certain connection to the paranormal world and the dark forces. This created a wonderful addition to the story and narrative.

We are always told that revenge is not the best way to deal with loss, and in this story, you get to see the dangerous consequences of pursuing such a feeling.

I recommend this book to thriller readers.
