The Prophecy of Achilles by H M Roberts (Book Review #1287)

The Prophecy of Achilles is a poetic retelling of the myth of Achilles. It all begins with Peles begins having doubts over his offspring repeatedly dying shortly after birth. Unknown to him, Thetis Achilles’ mother sacrifices them in the fire to make them immortal. Upon realization, he saves the last child from dying, and that’s how Achilles grows up under the care of his father.

The prophecy that proceeds Achilles is burdened by much expectation. You get to read a beautiful story of how he overcomes his responsibilities, friendship and everything that happens in Skyros.

The story is written well, and you get to enjoy a well-written amazing story filled with action and adventure. I recommend this book to those who like poetry and Greek Mythology.
