SAS: Babcock’s Revenge is an action and adventure story filled with thrill and military fiction. It is set in 1942 and begins with Corporal Carl Babcock escaping from imprisonment. He is alone and has to survive all that he faces avoiding being recaptured by the Japanese forces.

Scene after scene, you read along and venture into the Kakoda Track, wondering if Carl and his small group of friends will make it. I enjoyed how descriptive every moment was written. The author has taken his time ensuring you are in it for the long run.

This is book one of its series, so I expected a solid foundation and character introduction with sideline storylines that would venture into the next edition. I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see that the author managed to provide enough closure for this book and leave more for the next one.

I recommend this book to those who like thriller adventure stories.
