Frozen 2: Dangerous Secrets: The Story of Iduna and Agnarr by Mari Mancusi (Book Review #872)

How can love conquer all? How can we rely on this emotion to get through anything that we face in life?

Dangerous secrets is a fantasy story about Iduna and Agnarr’s journey, meeting each other, and facing all the troubles that eventually place them on the ship searching for Atohallan.

From what we know after watching Frozen 2, Iduna is Northuldran, and she saves Agnaar in the battle of the Dam. What transpires after is that Iduna is trapped on the other side of the mist and has to live among the Arendellians without letting them know who she really is.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Although Arendellians appear to be kind people, they are very spectacle and easily manipulated through various forms of suspicious events. They are terrified of magic due to questionable events that transpired in the battle of the Dam and also the king’s behavior towards magic in general.

Idunna’s personality and character were beautiful to read. You could sense where Anna got to be so strong and full of joy and love for this reason.

The relationship between Iduna and Agnarr begins with friendship and then blossoms to be more. Agnarr must marry a princess to solidify the countries’ relations; however, his heart belongs to Iduna.

I enjoyed how every part of the story inspired the reader to be strong and carry on, no matter how bad things were.

To my surprise, I found many editing errors in the book. For one instance, the sentence was missing a complete word. It read, “That would great.” How is this possible? Disney press is a reputable company. I am sure they hire many editors and go through the book several times before they publish it. How did this go a miss? As an editor myself, I found it interesting.

The cover design was beautiful. The plot was beautifully laid out. It embodied all the important things we want our youth to follow and be inspired by. Love, forgiveness, family, loyalty, and compassion were all elements of this beautiful story.

I recommend this book to Disney fans and everyone who have enjoyed watching Frozen 1 and 2.

The story definitely answers many questions and completes the puzzle and mystery behind Elsa’s powers and the family dynamic that left the two sisters by themselves.
