Bara Lodge by Tsiresy Rasolondraibe (Book Review #1018)

Bara Lodge is a crime fiction. The story begins with Hary Andrean travelling to Madagascar to meet his girlfriend’s parents and ask permission to take her hand in marriage. While he does not get approved or blessed, more complications happen to revolve around drug dealings and kidnapping.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I wasn’t a big fan of the book cover and believe the work would have definitely benefited from being professionally formatted. However, since this is the first book written by the author, I believe there is potential for much more.

The book is also available in French, and the storytelling was written well. Attention to detail wasn’t as necessary since the scenes took your attention and made you want to see how everything would pan out.

I particularly enjoyed Sophie’s character. As Hary’s girlfriend, she played a substantial part in the whole drama that unfolded.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read fictional crime stories.
