Fearful by Christian Nava (Book Review #1141)

Fearful is a children’s book about a twelve-year-old boy who gets in trouble being desperate to become an influencer. He finds a phone abandoned and thinks this is it, but the phone is cursed, and he has to face many troubles with his friends going on an adventure dealing with the haunted phone.

I appreciated the drawings included with the content. The literature is written in such a way that it would appeal to the younger generation. The story is told well, demonstrating the effects of social media.

This is a scary book and can be exciting for many youngsters to read. The dialogue is funny, and the added humor makes the book even appealing. It is an ideal Halloween story.

I recommend this read to children aged 9-12 and parents looking for a fun story for their kids.
