The Mystery of the Rose by Juliana Carvalho (Book Review #1204)

The mystery of the rose is a science fiction romance story about Rita, a scientist leading a bio lab team researching a cure for breast cancer. There is a lot of pressure on the Ph.D. student who provides the labor for lab research. As Rita goes under preventative surgery, she travels through time, and everything takes on another level of a tale.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The story embodies all the juice elements of love, relationships, the low sides of abuse, and colleague relationships. Rita has to learn to break through everything she knows and rise above it all.

I enjoyed the mystery and the dynamic of the tale. The author managed to bring out the best in Rita and her personality. The time-traveling enabled a lot more backstory, and the existing storyline synced with the current scenes; this created a well-written story.

I recommend this book to those who like to read stories about medicine and time travel.
