The Dreaming Tree by Ruby Fink (Book Review #1216)

The dreaming tree is a children’s book and begins with a boy and a girl who have a tree that enables them to dream about anything they desire. The two children love the tree very much and spend a lot of their time pretending to play as pirates, treasure hunting, becoming acrobats, and having a circus tent.

Once they are told they cannot play outside anymore, it appears to sadden the children to a point where they cannot dream anymore. This reminded me of the pandemic and how we all had to retreat to stay safe, but at the same time, we stopped moving and playing and consequently stopped dreaming.

I enjoyed reading this book, and the illustrations were colorful. I appreciate the message embodied in the story and found it appealing for children to read.

I recommend this book to parents who wish to encourage their children to read and keep dreaming.
