The Midst of Magic by Christian Cura (Book Review #1273)

The Midst of Magic is an urban fantasy story, and it begins with Kara Hartman, a photojournalist who wants to hide her magic from the world. After enduring betrayal and a massive loss, Kara is vulnerable. Her loss is too significant to deal with, and guilt has overcome her feelings.

Kara’s personality is strong, and although things don’t seem to be working out for her, she manages to overcome some of these feelings by meeting Selene, a rogue demon, and carrying an action-packed, thrilling story to read.

I enjoyed the book cover design for the book as it reflected the content inside. The storyline is written with descriptive writing and keeps you intrigued. The story’s premise did not overshadow the fantasy elements, so everything was enjoyable to read.

I recommend this book to fantasy readers and look forward to reading more from this author.
