The Casserole Ladies by Billy and Linda Johnson (Book Review #1080)

Advertisements

The Casserole Ladies is a humorous fiction story based on older unmarried women in towns throughout the South who appear on doorsteps of recently widowed or divorced males. These women bring casseroles and other homemade dishes, such beneficence occurring when these men are most vulnerable to feminine sympathy. Potential companionship and matrimony often are motivating factors.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The book has you hooked and intrigued from the start. It is very hard not to laugh and read along. The premise of the work is hilarious, and the authors have a certain wit in their written making it really appealing to read the book.

The story’s pace is steady, and I can see much potential in reading more funny material, like this one, from the authors in the future. I recommend this book to fiction readers and those who want to laugh.
