Avery Marie and the Crown of Elfae by Christina Martine (Book Review #1498)

‘Avery Marie and the Crown of Elfae’ is a sci-fi fantasy story filled with romance. The story begins when Avery runs away to avoid marrying Prince Harold. On this journey of self-discovery, she also enters a beautifully described world with an alien presence and a portal to another world.

As you read along, you slowly understand the concept behind the world. It is a complex world, and the scenes are written so well that you don’t really wish to put the book down. I predominantly enjoyed the variety of creatures and the adventure that consisted throughout the storyline.

The pace of the story is steady, and as you enter parts where you least expect it, this matter excites you. I rarely get diverted and feel startled, so I appreciated this factor about the novel.

The concept of storytelling does contain violence, so it may not be suitable for all. The added romance was a bonus, and character interaction pulled everything together.

I recommend this book to epic fantasy fans.
