Lifeline to a Soul by John K. McLaughlin (Book Review #1549)

‘Lifeline to a Soul’ is a memoir about John teaching entrepreneurship to prisoners at a minimum-security camp in North Carolina. As he struggles to find employment, this appears to be the best option for the time being, but the more he gets involved and progresses, he understands way more than he thought he would endure.

As the book takes you on this beautiful journey back to how it all began and then touches on his experience as a teacher, you cannot help but feel for the author’s luck on things.

The memoir is written in such a way you can feel every thought, feeling, and predicament John is in. As he navigates through the hurdles, John’s personality and strong-will are applauded.

The work is written well, and the informative literature provides an insightful and detailed perspective on what it’s’ like in prison. John truly cares about the inmates and sees them beyond what they are convicted for.

I recommend this book to those who like reading memoirs.
