Kojiro by Khalil A. Barnett (Book Review #1557)

‘Kojiro’ is a fantasy story filled with science fiction elements. The story begins when Coletrane Marx, a billionaire archeologist, creates a ‘Tulipa’ and murders his parents with a sword one night. Living with guilt and trauma, the protagonist’s life is changed as he pursues Kojiro, the Tulipa, and a prophecy he never knew existed.

The beautiful worldbuilding and how the author describes the scenes stand out and dominate the storyline. The characters are diverse and ensure a great mystery.

The pace of the story is fast, so you know there is much going on. Coletrane’s personality, character, and demeanor are very attractive. You cannot relate as much to him, but due to the skillful nature of the writing, you simply understand him. This also enabled us to make him unique, adding richness to the plotline.

I recommend this book to fantasy lovers and those who like complex storylines.
