Matthew’s Rise by Debra Spearman (Book Review #1571)

‘Matthew’s Rise’ is a fictional story about Matthew and how he and his family are going through grief. They decide to go to their family farmhouse beside Caddo Lake in Louisiana, where they endure a fire. They aren’t sure what’s caused it, and they discover more after pursuing it.

Mathew and his friends are curious about the fire, and when they uncover Caddo Indian mound in the woods, everything changes in the book. The story is perfect for young readers and minds. It is written with the intention of providing the same narrative suitable for the age of its reader.

I enjoyed the descriptive writing and all the mystery embodied in the work. It is a story for middle-grade readers with a wonderful flair and flow. We are introduced to many thrills as we try to navigate what will happen next.

I recommend this book to young readers and those who like fictional tales.
