Swimming in a Sea of Stars by Julie Wright (Book Review #1601)

Swimming in a Sea of Starsis a young adult book with a very important message. Even a small act of kindness can make a difference. The story begins with young Addison and her feelings of being stressed, unloved, unseen and cared for. She is sad and to the point where she has attempted suicide.

Her therapist has asked Addison to keep a journal, and this helps. As she returns to school, she knows there is much talk about her, but alongside all her inner dilemmas and thoughts, she also realizes that she isn’t alone and that some students are also struggling with their own problems.

The cover design is well thought out, and I appreciated all the care and love put into making this book. There is a certain attractiveness to everything being said and the embodied message.

If you are into reading something meaningful and understanding how connected we are as humans, then this book is for you.

I recommend this read to young adult fans.
