The Gift of Allowance by Gary M. Doughlas (Book Review #1630)

‘The Gift of Allowance’ is a self-help book introducing a new perspective on people’s points of view and judgments and how to handle them in a positive way. There is a certain behavioral pattern that begins when you are young and then continues as you get older.

What I predominately enjoyed about this book was how relatable it is, and it dictates a premise that everyone can understand and follow. We live in a time and age that is pretty hard to communicate, so books like this are valuable in order for the reader to learn the concept of ‘allowance.’

Social media is also another very important fact we face today. We have a lot of judgments and unsolicited comments that ‘keyboard ninjas’ tend to use without knowing the impact they have on the person’s self-esteem and life. So, I appreciated how the author equipped the reader with the right tools to accommodate such judgments.

The written work is also kept to be enjoyable and educational at the same time. It teaches you how to live a happier life. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend this book to readers seeking useful self-help material.
