A Coup by Phyllis Skoy (Book Review #1632)

‘A Coup’ is a women’s fiction. It is set in Istanbul when hell breaks loose, and she steps off a tram attempting to visit her friend, Adalet. There are gunshots and chaos, causing her to run into a soldier who creates much drama in the story.

You also meet Adalet, who is dating a Jewish American. While she is in Istanbul and he is far away, Adalet is a Muslim, so there is much difference there, too.

The suspenseful story is filled with much contrast and a dynamic that meshes well. As much as this is a political thriller, it is also a tale of a journey. The storyline is enjoyable to read.

This is a trilogy, so I would advise you to read this series from the beginning. I recommend this book to political fiction fans.
