Lasting Spirit by Jabari Smith (Book Review #795)

Lasting spirit is an action written novel about Laila. Her mother is dead, and she is with her devoted father, who does not stop at anything to provide a stable home for her daughter. Laila’s mother was a scientist that invented a serum that could make a spirit last forever. The invention does not go unnoticed by the Second Chance Corporation security guards and a home invasion that causes Laila and her father’s death to ignite a chain of events that bring all the facts to life.

The mention of spirits, souls taking over a human body, and even transforming souls from one body to the next was very interesting to me. I had boded along with this premise in other similar books; however, for the machine’s invention to be like it was, it truly made it impactful on a global scale.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The story does not end conclusively, and thus I assume that we will hear more from Laila and her adventures.

The literature was easy to follow, which helped since the content and storyline was someone how complex. I had many questions about how the whole thing could work, and I sometimes had to wait for a while before I could understand or convince myself that this was the answer.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read action, suspense stories, and books that mention immortality concepts.
