Purposely Positive: How to Live an Intentional and Inspired Life by Joel Lindeman (Book Review #594)

Purposely Positive is a self-help book teaching you how to live positively. The author’s purpose in writing this book is to get the reader out of their comfort zone and to make them live life with intention instead of just passing through it.

“be a change you want to see in the world.”- Mahatma Ghandi.

He expresses that the human brain thinks more negatively than positive and that is due to the survival nature we have been grown to live with. He believes that impressions are what influences us within, and bad impressions are the ones that hold us back. Neuroplasticity is also mentioned and discussed which I found to be very interesting. I particularly appreciated and agreed with the fact that we are more negatively influenced and our perspectives have always changed based on our negative experiences.

The literature was easy to read and to understand. It does involve some scientific references which backed up the reasoning, as where would you come up with such solutions otherwise?

The chapters or organized and well put together. The book is informative and useful. It is written with care and it is obvious that the author has taken much attention in conveying his message.

I recommend this book to self-help readers and people who wish to make a positive change in their lives.
