The Watcher in the Night by Michael Carlos Maroney (Book Review #646)

The watcher is a crime thriller about Tobias. He is a watch cat investigating the murder of three cats. The more he investigates, the more crimes become connected to his research.

The world is about cats and humans; however, the story is written with a cats point of view. The work is a tribute to cats, and it opens your mind and creates thoughts on how we, as humans forget about stray cats or their lives in general.

 

The conspiracy and how Tobias has to discover the truth was thrilling. The author considered the narrative as an animal and so its dialogue, descriptive nature, and other written scenes reflected that. Greed, violence, crime, and pollution was at play, and as other species of animals got involved with the storyline, the literature became more complex and depth.

 

I particularly enjoyed the cover of the book and how the story never swayed away from the storyline.

 

I would recommend this story to cat lovers and people who like to read about animal crime.
