Die the villain C. P. Serret (Book Review #739)

Die the villain is an action thriller written about Criss Finn, who has just returned from Japan working undercover as a consultant. Once he meets Chloe, things change. She is a fashionable grad school and introduces him to the social scenes he has always wanted to join.

Things take a turn, and the dynamic of things change. By doing so, the story flows on another level. Criss meets Taylor, who is living a double life and has her own little dark secrets and so the story interwinds with many levels of drama, action and ends with an interesting twist.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I found the work to be written with many layers. This didn’t complicate things and instead implemented depth to the story. The women had powerful personalities, and that definitely brought out a strong character interaction. Many cultural references within the works may have been confusing for some readers. However, this didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment.

The pace of the story was steady and picked up where it needed to. I particularly enjoyed the secrets and the double lives, which complicated the storyline in a fun way.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in reading undercover stories and enjoy thrillers.
