And The Devil Walks Away by Kevin R. Doyle (Book Review #964)

And the devil walks away is a mystery thriller about Helen being hired by a criminal in order to prove that he has committed the crimes another has been claiming. The serial killer wishes to dig up more crimes than the police know so he can bargain to reduce his sentence.

Helen is a disgraced ex-cop and so does not have the support of her old colleges to access the resources she needs. The thrilling story keeps you reading along as things begin to reveal themselves.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The police procedural novel is written descriptively. The pace of the story is fast, and you instantly feel sympathy for Helen and her situation. Dialogue and back and forth dominated the storytelling, but it was easy to envision the scenes and scenarios.

The cover design for the book was well designed. It represented the content of the book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read detective stories and thrilling stories.
