Family Camp S’more than a Vacation by Maria Warner (Book Review #1400)

‘Family Camp S’more than a Vacation’ is a memoir written about Maria and her family. The effects of 9/11 and the crisis that came with it have affected them. With three kids, she decides to go camping, where she spends a tech-free week navigating all her thoughts, feelings, and collective memories.

The premise covers parenthood and how we struggle to make the right decisions to help our children grow and learn. As a parent, you will enjoy this book. I also liked how the author invited us to the world of simplicity and nature and appreciated all the small things we have in our lives.

The literature is written well, and you find the content relatable. It is also an honest retelling of Maria’s memoir experience at the summer camp, so you get to see a lot of family love and humor.

I recommend this book to memoir fans.
