The Relaxists by Alton Spencer (Book Review #1516)

‘The Relaxists’ is a metaphysical and visionary fictional tale. It begins with Edward Slowbe and his discovery that changes his concept and understanding of human nature. As he pursues the meaning behind all the power and insights, we enter a historical period where mysterious realms are at play, and he has to confront many things to survive.

I enjoyed reading this book as it was complex and needed a little more attention than normal fictional tales. However, I don’t think it would be everyone’s cup of tea. I appreciated the twists, turns, drama, adventure and sense of discovery.

While the literature is written well, it keeps remaining intriguing. I found it mystical and thought-provoking. The world-building and characters were in-depth, adding more dynamic to the nature of the premise.

I recommend this book to those who like reading stories out of the box.
