Nurse! A Memoir by Francene Cosman (Book Review #1553)

‘Nurse!’ is a memoir written with the intention to provoke your mind and welcome you into a world you least expected. This memoir introduces you to the life of a nurse, Francene, and everything she goes through in school, what she learns, her challenges, and how her profession demands certain disciplines you may not necessarily know about.

The memoir is set in 1959, and with that, you also get to learn a lot about the time and era you may necessarily did not know about. It is an honest account of what being a nurse is like. Francene is honest, creating highs and lows, funny and sad moments.

Francene’s personality is strong, and her character makes you see her succeed. When she makes mistakes or behaves in a way that induces you to laugh, she becomes all the more relatable, and you understand her situation even more.

I enjoyed reading this memoir and recommend this book to those who enjoy memoirs and like reading about nurses.
