Wings of destiny by Fasihur Rahman (Book Review #732)

Wings of destiny is a biography book about the life of Ziaur Rahman Ansari (1925-1992), who served as a union minister in the council of ministers of two Prime Ministers – Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. The book is in six sections and explains Ziaus’s journey and his political career. He was in the case of Shah Bano, which led to the Bill specialized for the protection of women in a divorce.

The book explains and describes Ziaurs life until the end of his diagnosis of a neurological disorder. His life is extraordinary, and I felt that this book was trying to attempt to clear his name in some aspects where there had been speculations, misunderstandings, and misquotes.

The literature was written well, and it appears that the author was careful with the content. The work emerged to be authentic and accurate to the facts.

It is a contemporary historical book for people who are interested in politics and Ziaur’s life.

The ending chapters were very emotional and genuinely made you feel for the author and subsequently bond with him. By the end of the book, the reader justly knows Rahman and understand what he went through.
