Quest of Fire: The Gathering Dark by Brett Armstrong (Book Review #649)

Quest of fire is a young adult book written about Anargen. He is a young man sworn to protect the king od Realms. His mentor, Cinaed, becomes his companion in a quest which he has to mediate peace between three- not so ordinary- group. If that was not enough, on the other hand, an evil force from the North aims to destroy any peace talks happening between the surrounding groups and keep a particular treasure hidden.

The fantasy world is filled with sacrifices, challenges, and adventure. It is a tale of self-growth and self-discovery. Anargen begins his journey just being a simple boy, but his path takes him on a voyage that even he did not predict.

As I believe this is the first book of its series, I felt that the foundation of the storyline was well structured and put together. The pace was slow and had embedded clues within the content. This I considered needing extra attention as it may have been intended for future tales.

I would recommend this book to fantasy readers and people who enjoy big adventures and strong characters.
