At the kingdoms fold by T.M. CARUANA (Book Review #773)

At the kingdoms fold is a historical fantasy about sword and sorcery. This is book one of its series and begins with an angry King, Virun, slaughtering everyone in his way seeking the Queen he was meant to have.

The author’s vivid imagination and manifestation genuinely shine in this book. The transcription is complex, and the story was delightfully detailed. I particularly enjoyed the world-building. I honestly believe that without it, the story would have fallen flat. The versatile characters also were an excellent addition to the multi-layered narrative.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

There are violent scenes and some sexual content and profanity, which makes me suggest it to be more suitable for an adult audience.

The writing is smoothly filled with sizzling mystery. There is a breathtaking nature of intrigue storytelling, making sure you carry on reading. It has historical references creating a rich under layer tone of authenticity.

I enjoy reading women as lead protagonists, and this one too had a nice touch to it. From birth, she is nursed to become something great. I found that to be inspirational.

I recommend this story to people who like epic fantasy stories and books in series.
