One’s Evil Desire: A Saga of Dogs of War-A Story of Mercenaries by Michael Short (Book Review #882)

One’s evil desire is the fourth book written in the sci-fi series titled: A saga of dogs of war, a story of mercenaries. The Earth isn’t like we know it. Around a hundred years ago, Earth suffered from a cataclysm that caused the population to move to Mars and other moons. The governing Corporations then decide to resettle back on Earth. As they form groups, the story then takes you on a twenty-year journey, introducing an early descendant of the people of Earth called Kapacaras and incorporated wars between people wanting space and power

Since I began the series from book four, I found it hard to connect to the story’s characters from the beginning. I had to do some research and read around to understand and obtain some foundation as to what was going on. This did not take anything away from the story’s quality or enjoyment, but it just made me realize that it would have worked better if I had just started from book one.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The story is highly science-based and interesting to read. There are many layers to this story, and with much attention and good memory, you can easily appreciate the intense scenes, characters, and dynamic. The pace of the story was steady and kept me intrigued till the end. It was complex, multi-dimensional, and thought provoking to read.

I recommend this story to anyone who likes to read science fiction material.
