She Lost Her Muse by June Rollins (Book Review #915)

She lost her muse is a beautiful story about two friends, Meagan and Poppy. College roommates, successful artists, and best of friends, nothing seems to be stopping for these two girls. Suddenly, Poppy loses a semester before graduating and her father, Pastor Wayne, sends her to live with her mother in North Carolina. Things aren’t easy for her as she doesn’t know anyone, but slowly, she blends in, and that’s when the story takes you on an even exciting journey.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The story is a coming of age and beautifully written novel. The town is wonderfully described and keeps you intrigued. I believe Poppy was what pulled everything together. Her personality, character, and her love for art, really made her relatable and likable. The added romance was also a delightful experience.

This is the first book of the Maypole artist series. It provided enough foundation and backstory to carry it forward with another addition. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read fictional stories and literature that dives you in and makes you forget about your surroundings.
