More Than Just Finn by Paz Ellis (Book Review #1176)

More than just Finn is the beautiful story of an autistic boy who grabs your heart and attention from the moment you meet him. After 18 years of feeling as if he has a mental disability, he realizes that he is gifted and changes everything around him.

Finn’s personality and the courage it takes to be true to himself, realizing his own strength was beautiful to read. The story is written very well and discusses so many aspects of a journey where is heartfelt and somewhat alarming. His parents are abusive towards him, calling him names and mistreating him. This makes you frown at times and feel sad. The power of literature is therefore admired in the premise of this book.

I enjoyed reading about the challenges and life of an autistic boy. It was even more admirable to see how the love, care, and support changed the course of his life. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a fictional tale.
