An Independent Woman in Yugoslavia by Iris Novak (Book Review #1344)

‘An Independent Woman in Yugoslavia’ is a memoir written about Iris’s life from the beginning till the final years of living in a Communist social system. Her life has not been easy, and you experience reliving all her encounters through her wonderfully written literature.

Iris’s personality brings out the beauty in this tale. Her success, failures, emotions, hardships, and experiences are spoken with truth. This is a Slovene story and a tale that must be read.

As a woman, I found the story to be very heartfelt and touching. I look forward to reading more from this author and recommend this book to memoir fans.
