Chapter 4- Lesson 2- Infinitives

Infinitives

An infinitive is a verb phrase that almost always begins with ‘to’ and ends with a verb.

To have

To talk

To explore

Infinitives can be used as nouns, adjectives, or adverbs.

For example:

To dance was her greatest desire.

The way to act is through determination.

Here are some examples of some infinitive phrases:

To hope for a better tomorrow.

To forget all your fears

To walk into the sunset.
