Three King Mackerel and a Mahi Mahi by Kim Troike (Book Review #785)

Three king Mackerel and a Mahi Mahi is a fiction thriller story about Megan. She is divorced, living as a lifeguard and has three children. As chance happens, she meets James, who is a police officer working for the special forces. Things appear to take off from there with much drama, thrill and twists that question many things for Megan.

Megan finds James very attractive, and both characters really complemented each other. Megan’s mother loving nature was pleasant to read. Her personality was naïve at times, but she grew, and that was what pulled the story together. The protagonist really wants a change in her life. She wants to protect the women who went through what she has.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The literature was nicely written, and the pace had a steady pace to it. The author had written a few other books, and since I had read her stories before, I was familiar with the style of her pen. It does take a while for the reader to grasp the story, but when you do, it is a pleasant journey, and I found that noteworthy.

I recommend this book to fiction readers and those who like intriguing twists in their stories.
