Friendship Estate by Lynda R. Edwards (Book Review #889)

Friendship Estate is a historical Caribbean and Latin American fiction story about two boys, Brixon and Dexter, who have grown up like brothers and were breastfed by the same nurse. Although they are racially different, the power of love and unity, creating a free world for everyone, runs through their veins, and so with that being said, this sci-fi fantasy takes you on a journey to Jamaica in late 1700-1800.

When a book begins with a map, you know that you’re in for an adventure, and this one didn’t disappoint. The story was written very well, and the literature possessed all the necessary descriptive scenery making sure the reader could easily blend their imagination into the scenes.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The abolition movement unites Lords and Ladies to work behind the divisions and revolutionize society for the better. History is changed with this book when plantation owners take the torch of freedom into their own hands and join the movement.

The book cover was thoughtfully created, and I really liked it. It resembled the colorful beauty and diversity of the story within. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys history science fiction books.
