Ghouls and Alchemy by Amy B. Nixon (Book Review #897)

Ghouls and Alchemy is an Amethyst hunter story. It is a genetic engineering science fiction story about Nathan Holloway, a US Marine but transformed into an Amethyst Hunter.

Nexus, an organization responsible for reviving dead soldiers, transforms them into immortal beings, chasing and hunting witches, magical beings, vampires, shapeshifters, and more.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The story is filled with high tech science fiction and mythological fantasy content. There are elements of supernatural scenes throughout the storyline that magnified the intensity of the storyline.

The literature had a steady pace for it and kept the reader wanting to read more. The cover design of the book was mysterious, and the color combination was spot on.

Another thing that stood out to me was Nathan himself. He not only has to deal with his own demons, but he also fights his enemies. There were fewer characters introduced, and therefore Nathan really stood out. The book exceeded my expectations for this reason I congratulate the author for producing such a well written story.

I recommend this book to people who like fantasy, sci-fi, and mythology.
