The Shadows of Appalachia by Mary O. Bremier (Book Review #1347)

‘The Shadows of Appalachia’ is a memoir written about the author back in 1928, where Mary invites us into her childhood years and more.

The biography is not a short one, and it explains every detail and encounter Mary has faced. Her tragic loss of her husband and daughter is hard to read. When Mary returns to Appalachia, it is enjoyable to read how she begins to deal with her past but also finds a way of life.

The writing really stands out in this memoir. I believe it’s not just the content but the way the author’s pen keeps you wanting to know more. This is an emotional read and if you are into memoirs, then you will enjoy this one.
