1. What inspired you to write the poems in What Mothers Withhold?
The poems in “what mothers withhold” took about ten years to write and are largely based on my experiences with motherhood. Chronologically, the first poem is about an ultrasound of my first daughter. I write about other topics, but my poems about motherhood are my strongest work. Writing is a way to process emotions and as I shared these poems I found they resonated with many women.

Hazard is a self-help book written by a spiritual evolution teacher who wishes to voice the notion that there are different forces at play that affect every moment of your life. According to the author, Hazard is the arbitrary force that points to each moment’s sheer randomness. What does that mean? It means that we are unaware of the future, and therefore we get blindsided by the events and moments that transpire, creating what we call our life.

An Ambiguous Greif is a beautiful memoir written about the loss of a Mother, her grief over her son Dylan’s death, and the story behind why it came to be this way.
The focus is on Dylan, but the narrative and the story emphasize a mother’s triumph and desperation to save the only love she has. It is sad. It is educational, and it is hopeful, all at the same time.

Rating: 5 out of 5.The literature is written bravely. It is easy to follow, and from the start, it grabs your attention and touches your heart. I particularly enjoyed reading how truthful the author was about mental illness. The content is as straightforward as it can get, and the experience is raw. You can easily connect with the feelings and the situation.
You are guaranteed to know more about ADHD, OCD, and how important it is to take it seriously. The subject matter is complicated, and you can see the frustration, pain, and complexity of the notion at hand.
The conversations between Dominique and her son were so sweet. The love and understanding were there, but at the same time, you could easily see the strain it was putting on the relationship.
I recommend this memoir to people who want to know more about mental illness and can endure reading about Dominique’s hardship.

Janet and Lloyd have a plan, and they take their two children on what they call chicken busses, which were the ex-North American yellow school busses, on this uncomfortable yet humorous journey. Janet and Lloyd know their way and have experience; however, the additional, uncalculated part is traveling with children.

Writing a novel was never on my bucket list. In fact, it was something I didn’t want to consider. There were too many talented authors, too many wonderful stories, too much competition in the book universe– why bother?
