Earth; The Death Chronicles Trilogy Book 1 by Jon D. Zimmer
Earth is the first book for the Death Chronicles Trilogy. The story focuses on Michael who is a scientist, returning to earth. Angelica who is an attractive hallucination, and Dominic who’s seeking domination of the earth.
The cover for the book was not appealing to me and as I began reading the story, it felt really off. The literature style of writing was more inclined towards a report of nature rather than a storytelling kind, and that did not stick with me. I found it hard to get into the flow of things and that kept getting distracted from the point of the story. This was a personal feeling and I believe was worth mentioning. It could be different based on the person.
What did exist, however, was a good foundation of a storyline that had potential in creating better sequel of events. The concept of a beautiful women standing between a place of existence and an earth scientist was intriguing.
Since I had previously read the author’s other book, I was surprised in reading this one. The diversity between the two was astonishing which displayed the broad knowledge and ability of the author in creating good work.
I believe the author has great potential in creating good literary work. Having known that he has written five other books, it is clear that writing is his passion. I appreciated the fact that the author did not fluff up the story just to please the audience. He was cut and dry, and that was refreshing.
I believe after everything said, this book would best suit the adventurous kind of readers.
