The Fairy Tales Grown Up by Konstantina Kalliontzi (Book Review #869)

The fairy tales grown up is a collection of fictional stories. The tales are based on the fairy tales we were used to reading when we were kids. The author does change a few things around but keeps the fantasy nature of the content, to be exact. The stories consist of betrayal, bewitches, match-making, heroes, and more. They all embed messages like being true to yourself or be determined in your conquest.

I enjoyed reading the short stories since I could finish one off and read the rest later. The author focused on keeping the fairy tale aspect of the stories consistent with the famous ones we know of today. Some of the tales were even set in 1889.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The literature was descriptive and was comprised of a steady pace. It was apparent that the author cared for the content to be as likable as the old fairytales we are accustomed to. The cover design of the book represented the content of the book.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes short reads and fairytale style stories.
