Fires of Lothia by Katherine Bryant (Book Review #510)

Fired of Lothia is a novella telling the story of Branna. Branna is a strong girl with high spirits who can ride a horse and fight along men using a sword. The story is short but quite eventful.

What I think was delightful to see was that Branna’s character did not seem to be flawless. She wasn’t a superhero or possesses some magical powers that made her stand out or special. What Branna did display was flaws that were natural, likable and realistic.

“This is the second book in the coldwood saga. After rescuing her brother Branna has to flee yet again, with her husband and deal with a few harsh situations, which made the storyline to be very exciting.”

The literature standard was in good order. The short story had a nice continuous flow to it. I would have preferred a longer story with more descriptive writing but considering this was a short story that was not possible.

I would recommend people to buy all of the series in order for it to make sense. This book is for fantasy readers and people who enjoy a fast read.
