The Prophecy (Saga of the Chosen Book 1) by Petra Landon (Book review #152)

This review was kindly requested by Petra Landon.

The Prophecy is the first of the Saga of the Chosen series. It is an urban fantasy book written with full of mysteries, action, and adventure. There is a hint of romance embedded within the story giving it an edge. The world is set in a contemporary style, containing Wizards, Vampires, and Shapeshifters. The heroine of this story is from San Francisco. Her name is Tasia, and she is on a mission to investigate and decode a plot that is threatening the lives of people. She does have friends to help her, but she finds it’s hard to trust fully and therefore, always has one eye open for the odd betrayal.

I found the powerful Wizard to be very intriguing. I almost wanted her to win. There are councils, guardians, leeches and of course handsome Alpha protector creating an epic casting crew. The entire story is well paced out with intense action scenes and packed with strong character developments. The literary standard was in high quality-inducing the reader to really dig into this fantasy world.

The author also did not tease you by just providing hints of a story just to drag you to buy the next book. I appreciated that a lot as many authors are recently just tagging the reader inducing them to an annoying amount of none existing literature, only to have them buy their next coming book.

I look forward to reading more from this author. Great writing at its best!

I highly recommend this book to fantasy lovers and sci-fi readers. This book does not disappoint.
